Very soon, the holiday season will be upon us, so before you get too busy with all the shopping, cooking and other activities, arranging for a routine dental visit is a great idea.
Let’s take a look at some end-of-year dental reminders for patients in Coffs Harbour and the surrounding area.
Book Early to Beat the December Rush
December is a busy time at Arthur Street Dental; many patients book appointments before the end of the year. Not only that, but we’re closed part of the month to celebrate with our family and friends, leaving fewer time slots for appointments.
The good news is that we offer Thursday appointments until 6:00 for those finishing work late, so we encourage you to try to arrange for a visit before you travel for the holidays.
Use Your Health Fund and CDBS Benefits Before They Reset
Did you know that many health funds reset at the beginning of the year? That means you can lose any unused benefits if you don’t use them before this important date. To learn more about when your extras reset or what to expect, click here.
And with the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS), your child receives up to $1,158 for basic dental services over two calendar years. This includes check-ups, x-rays, fillings, cleanings, fissure sealings and root canals. Any unused funds are lost if not used within the appropriate time frame.
Our dental clinic happily files HICAPS claims on the spot, making dental care less confusing and more convenient.
What to Do If You Have a Dental Emergency Over the Holidays
We realise that dental emergencies don’t wait until after the holidays are over, so we encourage you to call us on (02) 6652 1677 when the unexpected happens; we’ll do everything we can to alleviate your discomfort and restore your oral health.
Here are some of the dental emergencies we treat:
- Tooth pain
- Jaw pain or swelling
- Knocked-out tooth
- Broken tooth
- Lost or broken restoration
- Dental infection
