Invisalign or ClearCorrect are both excellent options for efficiently and discreetly straightening teeth; however, many patients may have concerns about the care of their teeth and aligners during treatment with invisible braces.

The truth is, caring for your smile during orthodontic treatment with clear aligners is straightforward and uncomplicated. Today, we'll provide some simple insights and tips on how to keep your aligners fresh and your treatment moving along efficiently. Here's what you should know.

Caring for Clear Aligners in Coffs Harbour

Removable aligners simplify brushing and flossing your teeth since you won't have to change your home care routine. However, keeping your aligners clean is also essential since bacteria buildup inside the aligners could contribute to causing problems such as tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease. Here are some tips for keeping your aligners clean and fresh during treatment with Invisalign.

  • Rinse your aligners whenever you remove them.
  • Store aligners in a container when you're not wearing them, and also clean the container.
  • Brush your aligners gently when you brush your teeth using clear soap or non-abrasive toothpaste that won't scratch them.
  • Soak aligners in a cleaning solution. This is also an option for keeping them fresh and clean.
  • Rinse aligners with lukewarm tap water. Hot water is not recommended, as it might warp the aligners and affect their fit.

When you're not using your aligners, store them in a case to protect them from damage. A container is also helpful for keeping track of them during meals.
