When flossing with a long piece of floss, wrap it around two fingers so you only use small sections you can easily maneuver and control. You'll thread the floss between your teeth, gently gliding it along one side of your tooth in a C-shape motion and then repeating the action on the other side of your tooth. 

Do this between all of your teeth to effectively remove debris and protect your gums.
